Statue of pioneering Welsh writer and feminist icon Elaine Morgan to be unveiled in Mountain Ash

The statue of Elaine Morgan, a permanent immortalisation in bronze of the celebrated daughter of the South Wales Valleys, will be unveiled in a special ceremony on Friday March 18th, 2022, outside Meddygfa Glan Cynon Surgery in Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Protected research time awarded to aspiring research leaders in Wales

Four aspiring research leaders in Wales have been awarded protected research time by Health and Care Research Wales.

The funding comes from the 2021 round of the NHS Research Time Awards and has a total lifetime value of £356,789.

Pinewood House being creative during lockdown

The Covid19 pandemic brought the entire world to a standstill and presented new challenges to most people. For the staff and patients of Pinewood House in Treorchy, a community based mental health rehabilitation service, this was no different. As the world went into lockdown, all of the patient’s access to outdoors services closed.
