Working together for better health across south-east Wales 

The NHS in south-east Wales is working together to improve healthcare for local people. 

The three University Health Boards serving the region – Aneurin Bevan, Cardiff and Vale, and Cwm Taf Morgannwg – provide care for around 1.5 million people across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Torfaen, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend. 

By planning and delivering some services together, we can make better use of NHS staff, skills, facilities and technology. This helps people access the right care, in the right place, at the right time. 

Regional working does not mean replacing local services. Instead, it enables specialist expertise, equipment and capacity to be shared across south-east Wales where this can deliver the greatest benefit for patients.
