Four clinical leaders in CTM UHB are amongst the first cohort in Wales to complete the New Advanced Clinical Leadership programme delivered by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW).

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is celebrating after being shortlisted at this year’s NHS Wales Awards, announced today (Thursday 20 July).

CTM have been working with ‘Tee2Sugars’ graffiti specialist, to develop the plain hoarding boards lining the hospital’s front entrance.

Pupils from Treorchy Comprehensive School have been working alongside the Cwm Taf Morgannwg Memory Assessment Service in the Health and Wellbeing Centre based at Ysbyty George Thomas.

Kidney Care UK, the UK’s leading kidney patient support charity, Wales & West Utilities, and the Welsh Kidney Network are working together with NHS Wales to offer specialist support to 1,500 people with kidney failure in Wales.

This week, in collaboration with partners Bridgend College, Merthyr College, and Elite Supported Employment, the CTMUHB Apprenticeship Academy hosted graduation ceremonies for our Project Search Supported Interns at both the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Prince Charles Hospital.

Last night (June 29), on its tenth anniversary, the Royal College of Nursing held its annual Nurse of the Year awards at City Hall in Cardiff. The evening celebrates the successes of all of Wales’ nurses and all their continued hard work.

We are looking for two new members for our Board. The positions available include a new Vice Chair and an Independent Member (Legal).

The offer to all of the two primary doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will end on 30 June for anyone who is 50 years old or younger without an underlying health condition.

Last week Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB enjoyed a fantastic morning at Prince Charles Hospital with children from Ysgol y Graig, as part of National Children’s Gardening Week.

Further dates have been announced as part of the formal public engagement process about EMRTS Cymru who work in partnership with the Wales Air Ambulance Charity to provide the air ambulance service in Wales. 

This week, Laurie launched a new initiative on the unit which will see all families receive a set of beads and a journal to record their little one’s journey.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg midwife Sarah Morris scooped a top national award at this month’s Royal College of Midwives Award ceremony in London. Sarah, along with two colleagues from NWSSP National PROMPT Wales, took the title in the Excellence in Midwifery, Education and Learning category.

Prince Charles Hospital’s Neonatal Service has been awarded the prestigious Baby Friendly Award and is the latest UK health care facility to gain recognition from the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) Baby Friendly Initiative.

Over the coming days, a contractor will be carrying out essential maintenance and cleaning on all coffee towers and desk-top machines.
