Volunteering with Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board

Gwynne Harries Making a Difference Every Day

Volunteers are at the heart of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTM UHB), playing a vital role in enhancing the care and experience of patients, families and staff across our communties. Working across all of our hospital sites our volunteers generously give their time to support a wide range of services.

How Our Volunteers Support

Our volunteers bring compassion, reassurance and practical support in many ways, including:

  • Offering a warm welcome through Meet & Greet Services
  • Supporting patients and families in Emergency Departments
  • Providing companionship as Ward Befrienders
  • Supporting services in Maternity and Day Units
  • Gathering insights through Patient Feedback roles
  • Contributing to Spiritual Care and wellbeing support

We also work in partnership with valued third sector organisations, including Pet Therapy services and Marie Cure, helping us extend support and enrich patient experience even further.

As part of the Armed Forces Covenant, we offer a guaranteed interview scheme for members of the Armed Forces Community who meet the essential criteria for the role. We recognise that military service experience and qualifications bring a wife and varied wealth of knowledge and skills.
