Eating Disorder Team (RISE-Rapid Intervention Service for Eating Difficulties)

RISE in CAMHS offers assessment and early interventions for children and young people with eating disorder presentations. The team manage mild to moderate cases in accordance to the Medical emergencies in eating disorders (MEED) Guidance on recognition and management released in May 2022 by The Royal College of Psychiatrist May 2022. The guidance favors the use of a family based approach. RISE is a multidisciplinary nurse lead team that offer interventions based on the Mausdley Approach to the assessment and treatment of eating disorders. Severe eating disorder cases are managed by the CII Team. All CIIT cases are on Part 2 of the Mental Health (wales) Measure. These teams are part of a pathway that includes Primary Care, Paediatrics, CAMHS and A&E Departments in the three CTM localities.
