Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is launching the next phase of engagement for the ‘Healthy Futures Maesteg’ programme and is encouraging people across Maesteg and the wider Llynfi Valley to get involved.
The programme is focused on developing plans for a proposed Llynfi Valley Health and Wellbeing Centre at Ewenny Road, exploring the future use of the Maesteg Community Hospital site, and improving access to health and wellbeing services closer to home.
As engagement moves forward, the Health Board is committed to working with local people, community groups and partner organisations to ensure that local voices continue to help shape future plans.
This next phase of activity will centre on rebuilding connections with communities, increasing opportunities for involvement and ensuring people have easy access to clear and up-to-date information about the programme.
Over the coming weeks, residents will see regular updates across the Healthy Futures Maesteg website and social media channels. These updates will explain what has already been decided, what remains open to influence and how local people can take part in future engagement opportunities.
The Health Board has made a number of commitments that will guide its approach to engagement. We will:
While this first phase will focus heavily on digital communications, work is already underway to prepare for a wider programme of community-based engagement later this year. This will include opportunities to meet Health Board representatives in local venues, community spaces and events across the Llynfi Valley.
Residents are encouraged to visit the dedicated Healthy Futures Maesteg website to stay informed, access project information, view frequently asked questions and find out about upcoming opportunities to have their say.
The Health Board is also encouraging people to share information with family, friends, neighbours and community networks to help ensure as many voices as possible are involved in the conversation.
