Helen Lentle OBE
Helen, who has been an independent member on the Cwm Taf Morgannwg board since January 2024, is the former Director of Legal Services for the Welsh Government, where she led the largest public sector legal practice in Wales and served as Head of the Legal Profession. Over a distinguished 35-year legal career, primarily in the Welsh public sector, she also held senior roles in two major Welsh local authorities and served on the Welsh Government Executive Committee and Civil Service Board.
She is a strong advocate for effective public services, believing that pragmatic legal advice is essential to delivering better outcomes for citizens. Helen is a trained executive coach and mentor, supporting leaders across the Civil Service and wider Welsh public sector. She is currently a trustee of a national charity supporting former miners and has previously served as a trustee of a dyslexia charity and a children’s hospice. In 2024, she was awarded an OBE for services to devolution and the legislative process, recognising her significant contribution to public service and constitutional development in Wales. Helen lives in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB area where she has been a resident for over 25 years.
