Radiology Team awarded national recognition

The CTM Radiology Reporting Team has been selected as the Society and College of Radiographers Wales’ Team of the Year 2023.

In the diagnosis of lung cancers, the team has introduced GP referred chest X-rays with same day ‘hot’ reporting - resulting in quicker diagnosis and treatment for patients.

The initiative involves a multidisciplinary collaboration between the entire radiology team including radiographers, reporting radiographers, radiologists and support staff as well as lung cancer specialist doctors and nurses. 

This innovative project was initiated, tested and modified during the pandemic, which demonstrates the great determination and resilience of the staff involved during an extremely challenging time.

The nomination will now go forward to be judged for the overall UK award, taking place in London on 8 November this year.

The project has also been nominated for Excellence in Diagnostics in the Advancing Healthcare Awards Wales 2023 on the 20 October 2023.
