New Carers Passport launches to support unpaid carers across CTM

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has launched a new Carers Passport to help recognise and support unpaid carers who play a vital role in caring for family members, friends and loved ones.

The Passport aims to improve the experience of carers when accessing healthcare services by helping staff identify and support carers appropriately, while recognising the valuable contribution they make to patient care and wellbeing.

The launch is part of a wider programme of work to ensure unpaid carers feel informed, supported and involved throughout a patient's healthcare journey.

To celebrate the launch, the health board is hosting a Carers Café on Wednesday 2 September from 2pm to 4pm in the restaurant at Royal Glamorgan Hospital. We plan to hold these events every three months, rotating between our different hospital sites.

The event is open to unpaid carers, patients, visitors, staff and members of the public visiting the site. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with a range of organisations and services offering advice, information and support for carers.
