CTM Seren Annual Awards 2026 - Public nominations now open

Seren Annual Awards 2026 Banner

We’re proud to launch the Seren Annual Awards 2026, celebrating the people and teams who make a real difference to patients, families and communities across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

If you’ve experienced excellent care, kindness or support, this is your chance to say thank you.

Nominations are now open and patients, service users, carers, partners and stakeholders are invited to take part by submitting nominations in two special categories:

People’s Choice Award

The People’s Choice Award recognises an individual or team who has made a meaningful difference to patient experience.

You can nominate someone who:

  • Treated you or your loved ones with exceptional care, compassion or respect
  • Went above and beyond to keep patients safe and supported
  • Listened to feedback and used it to improve services
  • Made a lasting positive impact, whether in a single moment or over time

This award is shaped directly by the voices of the people who use and experience our services.

The 2025 winner was Donna Morgan, Bereavement Clinical Lead, recognised for her exceptional compassion and unwavering support to families during their most difficult moments.

Sarah Hicks, Midwife, was named runner‑up for her outstanding, personalised care and advocacy, particularly in supporting neurodiverse patients and promoting inclusive maternity experiences.

Volunteer of the Year Award

The Volunteer of the Year Award celebrates individuals who generously give their time, energy and commitment to help others. This includes volunteers who directly support CTM services, improving the experience of patients, visitors and families and, expanded for 2026, CTM staff who volunteer their own time outside work supporting charities, community groups or local initiatives across the CTM area.

The 2025 winner of this award was Michele Hanson, a volunteer at Prince Charles Hospital, recognised for her transformative presence, kindness and commitment to patients, families and staff.

The Good to Grow Volunteer Team from the Occupational Therapy Palliative Care Service were named runner‑up, praised for their compassionate support and therapeutic horticulture work that enhances wellbeing and connection for patients and carers.

Who can nominate into the Seren Annual Awards?

You can submit a nomination if you are a:

  • Patient
  • Service user
  • Carer or family member
  • Partner or stakeholder (for example, local authorities, charities, voluntary organisations or other organisation)

Current members of CTM staff should submit their nomination(s) using the information and form that have been provided directly to staff via CTM’s internal channels, even if you are also a patient, carer or service user.

You don’t need to be an expert or write anything complicated - just share what happened, who made a difference, and why it mattered to you.

How to submit a nomination

Once submitted, nominations are considered by our judging panels based solely on the information provided.

Why your nomination matters

Being nominated often means more than people realise. It:

  • Helps staff and volunteers feel valued and recognised
  • Celebrates kindness, care and compassion
  • Highlights what great experiences look like
  • Supports a culture of appreciation across health and care services

Your words can make a lasting difference.
