Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board’s CTEV (congenital Talipes EquinoVarus) team within have always strived to bring children and their families together to enable them to develop a support network outside of the clinical environment. Historically the team have held an annual event which would coincide with a visit from Santa, however, this year they decided to hold their event in conjunction with World Clubfoot Day (June 3rd) which is also the birthdate of Dr Ponseti whose treatment regime is still the gold standard.

The team met on a beautiful Saturday morning in Dowlais Community Centre.   Owen Pearce, Deputy Head of Podiatry and Orthotics said: “It was incredible for the staff and parents to see the children mixing and having so much fun in a non-clinical environment. It gave families an opportunity to re-acquaint themselves with old friends and to forge new relationships with newer members of the group. It was heart-warming to hear the families sharing their experiences on how they have managed their CTEV journeys and this provided great learning for all.”
