Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is making its personalised maternity app available to all parents-to-be from Wednesday 10 June.
Following a successful initial rollout for newly pregnant people earlier this year, the Badger Notes app will now be available to everyone receiving maternity care across the Health Board.
The expansion means that all expectant parents, regardless of when their pregnancy began, will be able to access their personal maternity record safely and securely on their phone, tablet or computer.
The app provides instant access to key information, including:
Appointment details
Test and scan results
Clinical notes from midwives and maternity teams
By giving parents direct, real-time visibility of their care, the Health Board aims to help families feel more informed, confident and involved throughout their pregnancy journey.
As well as viewing their records, people can use the app to:
Record personal health information and preferences
Create and update birth plans
Access tailored advice from their maternity team
Track their pregnancy with week-by-week guidance
The digital approach supports more personalised care, while also reducing the need for paper notes and improving efficiency for staff.
Richard Hughes, Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery said: “We’re really pleased to be able to extend access to the Badger Notes app to all parents across Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
“This next phase means more families can easily access their maternity information in real time, helping them feel informed, reassured and more in control throughout their pregnancy.
“It’s also an important step in modernising our services — reducing paperwork and giving our staff more time to focus on providing personalised care.”
Parents currently receiving maternity care will be contacted with information on how to register and access the app.
