Organisations signing the Charter commit to working towards achieving 18 actions that can improve active and sustainable travel opportunities for their staff and service users / customers.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have started to implement the Charter by:
Launching Active Soles – A campaign to change workplace norms and cultures so that everyone understands the opportunities available to wear comfortable shoes at work. Wearing comfortable shoes means that we are more likely to build movement into our day, such as walking to or from work.
Promoting the tax and NI (National Insurance) savings available through Cycle to Work – using this scheme NHS Wales staff can purchase a bike, cycling accessories or safety equipment worth up to £3000 and repay it over 12 months through salary sacrifice. 50% of the bikes’ use must be for commuting.
Working with Transport for Wales to help launch JurnyOn - the UK's first subscription-based discounted train ticketing app.
