Badger Notes – a new personalised app for maternity patients

Parents-to-be across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board area can now access their maternity records digitally via the Badger Notes app.

The new system gives pregnant women and birthing people secure, real-time access to their maternity information directly from their phone, tablet or computer.

Through the app, expectant parents can view appointment details, test results, scan reports and notes entered by their midwife or healthcare team. Information is updated in real time, helping families stay informed throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

The app will be rolled out in two phases. From 17 March 2026 anyone registering a new pregnancy will use the new system. Anyone who has already registered a pregnancy before this date, will have access to the system later in the summer.

Badger Notes allows users to play a more active role in their maternity journey. Patients can:

• Add personal information such as allergies and medical history
• Record their birth preferences and plans
• Receive tailored guidance and resources from their midwife
• Share feedback about their care experiences

The app includes additional features such as a week-by-week pregnancy guide, insights into baby development, and space for personal diary entries.
