How do I get to the Lung Screening Scan?
If you are invited for a lung cancer screening scan, these will take place at Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital in Llwynypia. The scans will be done in a mobile CT scanner unit which is based in a car park at the side of the hospital – not inside the main hospital building or radiology department.

Parking - Free parking is available in the Hospital.
Toilets - The nearest toilet can be found in the main Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital building. The toilets can be located to right as you enter the main entrance of the Hospital.

Yes, there is wheelchair access on the vehicle for those who require it.
Can I access information in Welsh?
All our information booklets are available in Welsh, including standard and Easy Read versions.

What if I am deaf or hard of hearing?
For your telephone appointment it may be helpful if a family member or friend can help you with the appointment. If you wish to discuss other options then please contact us using our email address above.
At your Lung Screening Scan appointment, we can arrange for a British Sign Language interpreter to attend if you require this service.
Are there any adjustments for Learning Disabilities?
If you have any additional needs then let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. We can offer longer time slots and send out Easy Read information.
If you need someone to accompany you to your Lung Screening Scan, please limit it to one person. As space is limited in the mobile unit any person accompanying you may be asked to wait outside until your appointment is complete.
