CTMUHB pledges its support for Armed Forces personnel and families

This week, CTMUHB reinforced its commitment to supporting the armed forces family by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Covenant is an organisation-wide pledge to ensure that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly when accessing NHS services and face no disadvantage compared to other citizens. It was signed by the Chief Executive, Paul Mears, and Regimental Operations Support Officer, Captain Huw Williams, 203 (Welsh) Multirole Medical Regiment, who were joined by other representatives of Wales’ armed forces and health board colleagues to mark the occasion.

Paul Mears said: “In signing the Armed Forces Covenant we’re recognising the enormous contribution of our armed forces and the importance of ensuring they, and their families have access to the NHS care and support they require.

“We also want to build on our existing partnership, raising awareness of opportunities for our staff and for serving and retired armed forces personnel, while sharing skills and knowledge.”
