What is the purpose of this service?

This psychologically informed weight loss group course aims to help staff build sustainable, healthy lifestyle habits through addressing barriers to healthy eating, exercise and longstanding food-related beliefs, and habits. The aim is to help people feel better about themselves, improve fitness, lose weight and improve their overall wellbeing. The course is open to any staff with a BMI of 25 or over.

 

What does this service involve?

Healthy Lifestyles is a 10-week group course, with one session per week, typically held on MS Teams. The initial session lasts 1 ½ hours with all subsequent sessions lasting an hour. Each session involves many in-depth group discussions where staff are invited to explore their own personal achievements and barriers throughout the 10 weeks. Therefore, access to a working camera and microphone is essential.
