As part of Welsh Charities Week 2026, we are taking a moment to highlight the role of CTM NHS Charity and the difference local generosity makes across our hospitals and community services.
CTM NHS Charity raises money to support NHS care across Cwm Taf Morgannwg. Every donation stays local and helps fund practical improvements that make a real difference to patients, families and NHS staff across Bridgend, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil.
The Charity exists to help NHS care go further, when and where it matters most.
How the Charity helps
CTM NHS Charity works alongside Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board to fund improvements that enhance everyday experiences of care.
We support:
Charitable funding often supports thoughtful, practical changes. A calmer space. Better equipment. A place for staff to rest. For the people who need them, these changes matter.
One recent example is Ellis’ Room at Prince Charles Hospital. This new immersive space is helping to make the Paediatric Emergency Department a calmer, more reassuring place for children and families when they need care most.
Using interactive light, sound and projection, the room transforms a clinical environment into a gentle and engaging space designed to reduce anxiety and sensory overload. Inspired by the lived experience of staff and made possible through community fundraising, the project shows what can be achieved when charity support, NHS teams and local communities work together.
It is one of many examples of how small acts of generosity can lead to meaningful, lasting change.
