UK-wide prioritisation for urgent blood tests

You might have seen the news there is a UK-wide supply issue of blood sampling collection tubes.

This affects all hospitals and all GP surgeries in the UK, including ours here in Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB.

As a result, we will need to reduce the number of non-urgent tests, but will only do this when it is clinically safe to do so.

This means some patients may have routine tests postponed, which will be carried out in the future where appropriate.

Please be assured any patient who urgently needs their bloods taken as part of their care and treatment will continue to do so, and this does not affect them.
