Temporary move of Bridgend's Y Bwthyn Newydd palliative care services to enable essential works

Enabling us to carry out essential works on the water system, we will be temporarily relocating services provided at the Y Bwthyn Newydd, palliative care unit at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, for three weeks.

This work, starting on 5 February, is necessary to ensure the quality of the water supply to the unit.

Patients who are being cared for in the unit at this time will be transferred to another ward (Ward 21) within POW, along with the specialist staff who will continue to provide their care.

We will be speaking directly with these patients and their families to discuss these plans and to reassure them that continuity of care will not be affected during this temporary change.
