Seren Ward Move to Ysbyty George Thomas
Tuesday 14th June & Wednesday 15th June 2022
The Older Person Nursing and Clinical team will temporarily transfer with the 19 beds and patients from Seren Ward, Mental Health Unit, Royal Glamorgan Hospital to the former Dinas Ward in Ysbyty George Thomas (YGT). The move is scheduled for Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th June 2022.
This will be a short-term move of service with a planned duration of 6 months to enable improvement works to be completed on the Adult Inpatient Wards at the Mental Health Unit, Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
Despite the likely disruption, we believe these improvements to be in the best interests of inpatient service users, and we are clear the result will be a Mental Health unit that provides a safer environment with opportunities for greater flexibility of use of the space available as well as a better, more comfortable patient experience.
