On the road to healthier communities in CTM

CTM staff stood alongside the Health Protection Mobile Unit

The health and wellbeing of our communities across Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board remains a top priority. We’re committed to addressing health inequalities and improving access to essential health protection services, in partnership with our CTM Community Leaders’ Network.

The introduction of a health protection mobile unit is an innovative and proactive approach to improving community health. The mobile unit will bring health protection services directly to communities and will:

  • Deliver health protection services where they’re needed most
  • Increase community engagement
  • Reduce inequalities by reaching vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations

What’s currently available?
This mobile unit will be equipped to provide multiple vaccinations such as COVID-19, RSV and influenza to eligible patients within the community. Check who is eligible for these vaccinations via our Immunisation and Vaccines page.

Please note, there is a limited amount of flu vaccinations available at the mobile unit. Flu vaccinations also remain available through your GP or local pharmacy. Full information about who should have the flu vaccination is available on our website page.

If you need any of the above vaccines, or require additional information, please speak to our vaccinators on the unit, who will be happy to help.

Where to find us
We will be at the following locations between 10am and 3.30pm:

  • Asda, Bridgend - 24 and 25 November 2025
  • Lidl, Pontypridd - 26 and 27 November 2025

Working together to protect vulnerable people
By working with third sector partners, community groups, and public health teams, we’re strengthening our ability to protect and promote health in an accessible, responsive, and sustainable way.

This winter, for the first time, we’ve teamed up several third sector partners to support our flu vaccination campaign. Look out for our materials, involving local people across Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil launching very soon on our social media pages.

Local partners also are helping to secure convenient venues for our vaccination van, including Ton and Gelli Community Centre and Maerdy Community Centre, ensuring people can get protected close to home.
