New Vice-Chair for CTM

Kath Palmer has been appointed as the new Vice-Chair of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and takes up her new role in November.

Kath has worked in the private, public and third sector in Wales and is passionate about improving our health services, reducing inequalities, and ensuring people can live happier and healthier lives.

She has over 20 years of experience in public policy with particular interest and expertise in health and social care, housing, social justice, climate change, and joining up of public services for the benefit of those they serve.

Kath, who lives in RCT, is a qualified accountant and brings significant leadership, strategic thinking and change management experience as a former senior civil servant for Welsh Government in Health and Housing & Regeneration and more recently as CEO of a local Housing Association in Cynon, as well as being an experienced board member.

Speaking about her appointment Kath said: “I am passionate about improving our health services and I am delighted at the opportunity to be Vice-Chair at CTM UHB, who operate such vital services across RCT, Merthyr and Bridgend. I am looking forward to the challenge of making a positive difference to people’s lives in all three local authority areas and in building healthier communities together”.

Her passion and experience will be a real asset as we move forward as a Board, as will her knowledge of the many facets of the sector in which we work.
