Well done to Bethan Williams who today (July 29) received a High Sheriff Award from the High Sheriff for Mid Glamorgan Maria Thomas.
Bethan is the Lay Chair of My Maternity, My Way which is an engagement group set up with the aim of bringing together the community, parents and maternity staff to exchange ideas and gather feedback which can improve maternity services locally within Cwm Taf Morgannwg.
The High Sherriff of Mid Glamorgan Mrs Maria Thomas said: "It is my privilege to recognise and present Bethan with the High Sherriff of Mid Glamorgan Award today for her commitment, dedication and for going over and above as a Lay Chair of My Maternity, My Way.
“Her engagement with women and families has made the services far more patient centred and focused. The award also recognises the appreciation of the said community in the High Sheriff's County for her support and valuable services."
Bethan was awarded the High Sheriff Award for showing significant dedication to supporting maternity services in a volunteer capacity. The award was nominated by Greg Dix, Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery & Patient Care for Bethan's huge contribution to the improvement journey of the maternity service.
Greg Dix said: “I am delighted that Bethan has received the High Sheriff Award today. The contribution and support that Bethan and the group have dedicated to CTMUHB maternity services has made a huge difference in ensuring that our families receive the very best care possible."
