Fast Track Cymru launches "Are You PrEPped?" campaign to raise awareness of HIV prevention in Wales

Fast Track Cymru has launched “Are You PrEPped?”, a bold new campaign to raise awareness about HIV prevention and empower individuals across Wales with trusted information on sexual health.

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) is a pill that, when taken correctly, can reduce the risk of becoming infected with HIV.

Running throughout March 2025, the campaign will challenge stigma, encourage open conversations, and provide clear, accessible details about effective strategies to prevent HIV transmission.

Using a sex-positive, stigma-free approach, the campaign aims to engage communities across Wales - including gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM), sexually active women, and Black, Asian, and migrant communities - to ensure that everyone has the knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their sexual well-being.

Dr Rob Green, Public Health Consultant, CTMUHB said: “Last month CTMUHB joined the Fast Track Cymru Network, to work with other cities and regions across Wales to eliminate new cases of HIV in Wales by 2030.  It’s really easy to check your status, and for people living in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board region to find out more about PrEP, contraception, and to book free, confidential tests for STIs including HIV.”
