We are delighted today to be officially launching CRADLE within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The CRADLE charity service focuses on supporting anyone affected by pregnancy loss or termination of pregnancy, as well as providing free resources and guidance to healthcare professionals across the health board.
The CRADLE charity will provide Cwm Taf Morgannwg Hospitals with CRADLE comfort bags for women admitted to hospital for unexpected or overnight stays during or following pregnancy loss or termination of Pregnancy. The purpose of a CRADLE Comfort bag is to prevent feelings of isolation during often a difficult time, as well as practical support. The ‘Dear Friend Letter’ is a leaflet signposting women, their partners and family to CRADLE online support. The toiletries will allow some control and comfort to be gained, often during uncontrollable or expected circumstances.
The service provided to us by CRADLE comes as part of the partnership they have with our main construction contractor, Tilbury Douglas who are carrying out the improvement works at Prince Charles Hospital.
Louise Zeniou, CEO of CRADLE, said: “We are delighted to support Tilbury Douglas to launch CRADLE at Prince Charles Hospital, the partnership will also allow CRADLE to provide free training, support and pathway development to the healthcare professionals and colleagues, complimenting the care provided to anyone receiving care during or following pregnancy loss”.
Paul Mears, CEO at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, said: “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with the pregnancy loss charity and become the first Health Board in Wales to work with CRADLE.
“The pregnancy loss service and extra support provided by CRADLE will work alongside the specialist bereavement support that we have in place across our Maternity Services, supporting women and families through such heart-breaking times.”
