Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTM UHB) has announced the finalists for the their Seren Annual Awards 2025, alongside this year’s Long Service Award honourees. 

With nearly 300 nominations submitted, the awards highlight the exceptional dedication, innovation, and compassion demonstrated across the organisation. Each nomination reflects the remarkable contributions of individuals and teams working to improve patient care and support colleagues. 

Recognising outstanding contributions 

CTM UHB extends its congratulations to all nominees. Whether shortlisted or not, every nomination is a meaningful recognition of the impact made across the Health Board. The finalists for each category are listed below. 

Aspire Award 

For individuals who have embraced opportunities for growth and applied their learning in practice. 

  • Amber Griffiths – Speech & Language Therapist 

  • Cheri Lewis – Senior Midwifery Information Officer 

  • Richard Phillips – Healthcare Support Worker 

  • Robert Couzens – Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner 

  • Tom Richards – Professional Manager (Acute Care)

For those who exemplify CTM’s values of inclusion and respect.

  • Kathryn Bowen – Operational Lead, Neurodiversity Service

Long Service Award 

Honouring individuals with over 50 years of NHS service. 

  • Christine Edwards – Team Manager, Integrated Contraception/Sexual Health 

  • Diane Jehu MBE – Lymphoedema Specialist Nurse 

  • Barry Topping-Morris – Nurse Assessor Case Manager 

  • Sue Williams – Medical Secretary 

  • Yvonne Burton – Clinical Nurse Specialist / Health Advisor 

People’s Choice Award 

Voted for by the CTM community, this award recognises those who have made a significant impact on patient experience. 

  • Acute Clinical Team (Bridgend) 

  • Donna Morgan – Bereavement Clinical Lead 

  • Eating Disorders Intervention Team 

  • Hayley Pickett – Cardiac Nurse Specialist 

  • Sarah Hicks – Midwife 

Research, Innovation & Improvement Award 

For individuals and teams who embody the values of listening, learning, and improving. 

  • Amit Benjamin – Consultant 

  • Emma McLaughlan – Nurse 

  • Older Adult Mental Health – Memory Service Psychology Team

  • Reporting Radiographers Team 

  • Thomas Sauter – Clinical Lead Pharmacist 

Seren Award of the Year 

This award will be selected from CTM’s monthly Seren award winners from between October 2023 and March 2025. 

Team / Partnership of the Year 

Recognising collaboration and teamwork across CTM. 

  • Bridgend Integrated Community Services – Pharmacy 

  • Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialists 

  • Specialist Dementia Intervention Team, Older Person’s Mental Health 

  • Speech & Language Therapy, Bridgend 

Unsung Hero Award 

For individuals who consistently go above and beyond in their roles. 

  • Julie Welling – Senior Nurse

Volunteer of the Year

Awards Evening  

CTM’s finalists and long service honourees have been invited to attend the Seren Annual Awards Evening on Thursday 25 September at The Village Hotel in Cardiff, where the winners will be announced.
