Breast Screening Mobile Units come to Bridgend

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Hospital

Two new breast screening mobile units are now located in the Bridgend area; one based at McArthur Glen Outlet and the other at Halo Leisure Centre Swimming Pool in Pencoed.

The national screening service is inviting women living in Bridgend, and who are due to be screened, to attend their appointment at either of the units.

Breast Test Wales utilises mobile screening units for breast screening, it is so important because mammogram can help identify cancers when they are too small to see or feel, leading to earlier treatment.

The mobile units will be located in Bridgend until August this year.

Together with Breast Test Wales, we have developed resources to increase knowledge and awareness of breast screening and to encourage women in Bridgend to use this screening support service. If you would like to read more, you can visit the Breast Test Wales site here - Breast screening - Public Health Wales (nhs.wales).

Later this year, the breast screening mobile units will move around other areas of Bridgend and wider Cwm Taf Morgannwg area.

You may not receive your first invitation when you are aged 50.  We invite women based on when their doctor’s surgery is being screened.  You will be invited for screening before your 53rd birthday.

Further details on your invitation can be found here - Your invitation - Public Health Wales (nhs.wales)
