Know the facts

• The vaccine is updated annually to match circulating flu strains.
• Side effects are usually mild and short-lived.
• You can still get vaccinated even if you have a mild illness like a cold or cough.
• Vaccination is safe, quick, effective, and saves lives.
• Flu can spread fast - the more staff that get vaccinated in CTM, the lower the risk and higher the protection we will have in our community. It’s a small action that makes a big impact.
• The flu vaccine significantly reduces your risk of getting ill. Even if you still get the flu after having the vaccine, it is likely to be much milder and shorter-lived.
• The flu vaccine can’t give you the flu. It helps protect you and can make the illness less severe if you do catch it, even if you are otherwise healthy!
• Flu can cause days, or even weeks of illness and absence from work. It also puts the vulnerable at risk of serious illness or complications.
