Ezcema
We provide nurse led eczema clinics for children and young people who have a diagnosis of eczema. We accept referrals from consultants, GPs, Health Visitors and school nurses.
Services include:
- Clinical history taking and assessment of severity of eczema
- Recommendation of treatments, including emollients and steroid creams
- Demonstration of application of treatments
- Provide written information including a daily skin care plan and fingertip unit guide
- Regular outpatient reviews to monitor treatments and assess improvements
- Home visits as required to check progress following outpatient appointment
- Home visits to demonstrate application of treatments and for support
- Joint home visits with health visitors to provide additional support for families
- Referrals to dermatologists for severe eczema
- Provide support in consultant dermatology clinics
- Provide support in consultant allergy clinics
- Support and education for nursery and school staff
