Asthma

We provide consultant respiratory clinics and nurse led asthma clinics. Children are referred by their GP, via A&E or ward admission. During the clinic reviews a clinical history is taken and recommendations of treatments which include inhaled and oral medications. Regular reviews will be offered.

Assessment of inhaler technique
Lung function testing
Peak flow monitoring
Ward reviews for acute admissions and referrals
Community and home visits for children with asthma
Education and support for children and young people, parents and school staff to recognise and manage asthma symptoms
Provide personalised asthma action plans to support with self-management of asthma
Referrals from smoking cessation
