Last night our maternity, gynaecology, neonatal, bereavement, and chaplaincy staff led Wave of Light services to honour the babies we’ve sadly lost. Thank you to the families, friends and loved ones who joined us in remembering them.
One family shared their kind words: “Thank you to you and the whole team for organising something so beautiful. A moment to allow parents to cry and grieve at the same time.”
Suzanne Hardacre, Director of Midwifery, said: “To come together with our team, families and relatives, to remember those babies who have been lost too soon is something very important to us as a health board. We stand alongside parents and families in their grief and will continue to do all we can to support them in one of the most difficult situations they can face in life.”
For further information on how the health board can signpost you for support, please email ctm.bereavementsupport@wales.nhs.uk.
We would also like to thank Groves Gas in Cwmbran for donating all of the tea lights and glowsticks for the evening’s events.
Thank you also to The Mitchell Foundation for the candles given out for families to take home. We are very grateful for their continual support to CTM by providing toiletries for families experiencing pregnancy and baby loss within all of our hospitals.
