The brand-new Entrance 4 at Prince Charles Hospital is now completed and open for use by the public.
The refurbishment of Entrance 4 forms the most recent part of Phase Two of a Welsh Government funded £264 million programme of refurbishment of the Hospital which began back in 2017.
Phase One involved a £44 million investment in new infrastructure for the Hospital, the creation of a new kitchen, restaurant and pharmacy facility.
The new Entrance 4 will primarily service patient and visitor flows into the hospital for the following services:
Wards 1-12
Intensive Care Unit
Radiology
GP Out of Hours
Bill Rogers (Programme Director), said: “We are delighted to have formally opened Entrance 4, and see another key hand over in our programme of improvements at Prince Charles Hospital. The opening of Entrance 4 marks the latest critical change in the planned improvements, and we have taken significant steps forward since the beginning of this year.
“I would like to thank the entire Major Projects team, and everyone from our construction team at Tilbury Douglas for helping us to hit and achieve this latest milestone. I’d also like to thank all of the staff and patients at Prince Charles Hospital, for their ongoing flexibility, understanding and support during this programme of major improvements.”
