Eight sector leading initiatives, happening across Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB have been shortlisted for this year’s NHS Wales Awards. These annual awards showcase the incredible quality and safety improvement work that has transformed the experience and outcomes for people in Wales.

Teams from Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have been nominated in the following categories:

NHS Wales Safe Care Award –The Falls Collaborative.

NHS Wales Timely Care Award - Determining the need for inpatient podiatry service for people with acute diabetic foot disease.

NHS Wales Effective Care Award –Optimising pathways to drive improvement in patient care as a Multi-Disciplinary Team.

NHS Wales Person-Centred Care Award –At a Loss: Supporting those in need due to bereavement and loss.

NHS Wales Workforce Sustainability Award – CTMUHB and Ashgrove Surgery, Pontypridd - Developing a multi-professional learning environment in general practice: Supporting learners today to be the workforce of tomorrow.

NHS Wales Team Culture Award –Impact of Implementing Our 4Cs Philosophy and Culture at Ty Llidiard Tier 4 CAMHS Inpatient Unit”.

NHS Wales Information Award - Holistic transformation of clinical coding services.

NHS Wales Learning & Research Award – Training Wales’ future Physicians: Establishing a free-of-charge training course for MRCP PACES exam for Medical Trainees in Wales.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board’s Chief Executive Paul Mears said: “It is fantastic to see so many of CTM’s innovative projects included in this year’s shortlist for the NHS Wales Awards. I am hugely proud of the teams behind these pieces of work and of the real differences they make to those receiving care. Congratulations to all of the teams and projects involved, and I wish them the very best of luck at the awards in October.”

The next stage will see judges take part in virtual visits with each finalist to find out more about their improvement projects, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony in Cardiff, on Thursday 24 October 2024.
