National Work Experience Week 2025

This week CTM is celebrating National Work Experience Week 2025 (14-18 April), which is dedicated to promoting work experience opportunities, and the benefits of undertaking a work experience placement.  

Free online sessions 

During the week, CTM will be running a series of free online sessions aimed at 15-18year olds, to give them an insight into health care roles and career paths and learn about valuable work experience opportunities.  You can find out more here 

Spotlight on CTM Work Experience  

CTM has also put the spotlight on some of the young people who have undertake a work experience placement with CTM. Find out how their work experience placements helped them to learn and grow:  

Callum – worked in Clinical Engineering 

Callum enjoyed a wide range of tasks in the department including taking apart equipment, testing thermometers, supporting and maintenance on equipment. 

Cordy – worked on the Dementia ward 

Served lunches and breakfast, acted as a companion and supporting ward activities. 

Declan – worked in Mail Room 

Sorting mail, delivering parcels to wards. 

Jess – worked in Catering and previously Housekeeping 

Wiping down tables, dining room duties, preparing food and loading the dishwasher. 

Tristan – worked in Linen 

Loading the trolleys to go to different wards, delivering linen to wards. 

Rhian Lewis, Learning and Development Lead (Apprenticeships, Qualifications, Pathways and Widening Access) said: “National Work Experience Week is a fantastic opportunity for young people across the CTM region to learn about different roles within the health board, and to find out about the work experience opportunities that we offer. I’d like to thank all of the different teams who have supported our previous work experience placements. We look forward to welcoming and supporting more young people in the future.”
