Llantrisant Health Park

The Llantrisant Health Park is a major new regional healthcare development near the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Rhondda Cynon Taf, designed to improve access to diagnostic tests and planned surgery for people across South East Wales.

Led by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, in partnership with Cardiff and Vale and Aneurin Bevan health boards, the project reflects a shared commitment to delivering more resilient, efficient and equitable services for a growing population with increasingly complex health needs.

Working regionally allows the three health boards to make better use of specialist staff, shared diagnostic and surgical capacity, and major investment in modern facilities. This collaborative approach supports faster access to treatment, consistent clinical standards and improved quality of care, while reducing duplication and easing pressure on busy hospital sites.

Now at its final approval stage with Welsh Government, the first phase will establish a state-of-the-art Community Diagnostic Hub offering MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray and endoscopy services, alongside a dedicated training centre to support future workforce development. The new facility will provide much-needed capacity to cut waiting times and give patients quicker access to tests and treatment in a purpose-built, easy-to-access setting.
