Director of Communications, Engagement and Fundraising

Simon joined the NHS in 2005 and has led communications and engagement departments for organisations providing acute, community, and primary care, OPMH and learning disabilities services.

He joined CTMUHB as a Strategic Communications Advisor in 2022 and was appointed Director of Communications, Engagement & Fundraising in July 2023. Previously, Simon was Associate Director of Communications for Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Somerset, England, and Associate Director of Communications for Torbay Care Trust in Devon, England, one of the first integrated health and social care organisations in the country.

He has extensive experience leading complex internal and external communications and engagement programmes, and is a previous winner of NHS England’s Best Reputation Management Award.

Before joining the NHS, Simon managed internal communications with Devon & Cornwall Police and worked as a journalist and copywriter.
