Associate Member (Primary Care)

An experienced primary care leader with 25 years of service as a GP in the Llynfi Valley, Sarah recently retired as Senior Partner at Bron Y Garn Surgery, Maesteg. A dual‑trained clinician, she began her career as a Pharmacist and continues to support community colleagues through lecturing for the Welsh School of Pharmacy and peer‑support work. She currently practises as a locum GP, maintaining active clinical engagement across local practices.

She brings a strong primary care perspective shaped by decades of frontline experience and a deep commitment to community‑centred care. Her work has consistently focused on improving access, strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration, and addressing the health inequalities faced by local populations. Sarah has specialist interests in mental health, diabetes, and the impact of deprivation on patient outcomes. She is particularly passionate about delivering services within communities, close to people’s homes, to improve access and support those most in need.
