Local Authority Representative

Geraint Hopkins has 18 years’ experience of local government as a Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Councillor, where for nine years he was a member of the Council’s cabinet, holding portfolio responsibility for Children’s Services and, later, Adult Social Services. 

He is also former Chair of the Rhondda Cynon Taf Corporate Parenting Board, and Deputy Spokesperson for social services at the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA).

Recently, Geraint has also taken up the post of Clerk and Proper Officer to Llantrisant Community Council.

In his spare time, he is a church organist and choir accompanist.

Geraint became an Independent Member in 2022, and is a member of the following Board Committees:
