Executive Medical Director

Dr Dom Hurford has been a Consultant Anaesthetist in CTM for 10 years.

He started out with an Airway lead and Obstetric interest, and worked on both the RGH and PCH hospital sites for a number of years. Over time his clinical interests varied and he became predominantly a vascular anaesthetist, running the CPET service with a fellow Anaesthetist from RGH.
During the first COVID wave Dom took on the AMD post for CTM for Quality and Clinical Effectiveness, with the secondment of the Deputy MD, Dom took over as the interim and spent a lot of time working on Mortality Reviews, Ethics and governance issues.

As an MD Dom intends to maintain his patient contact and care as an Anaesthetist.

Dom has an interest in frailty care and vascular care, he is the SRO for the Vascular Network in South Wales and still Chairs the Welsh Frailty Fracture Network.

Outside of work he spends a lot of time running and with his family.
