1. Community Vaccination Champions Training - Caitlin Mason
- All three training sessions successfully delivered (two in-person, one virtual).
- 33 individuals trained to support vaccination conversations in their communities.
- Feedback highlighted increased confidence, improved conversation skills, and awareness of available resources.
- Positive reflections from venue hosts and participants; training was well received and accessible.
- A communications story is being developed to showcase the training on CTM channels.

2. Winter Vaccination Delivery Plan - Sara Thornton
- COVID vaccinations begin 1st October, delivered via six CVCs and outreach venues.
- Outreach venues include GP practices and community spaces such as the Arts Factory in Maerdy.
- Flu vaccinations delivered via GPs and pharmacies only.
- Challenges remain in securing a venue in Dowlais; Engine House suggested as a potential option by Ashton Montague.
Actions:
- Sara Thornton to explore Engine House venue and report back.
- Natasha Weeks to share contact for VAMPT to support venue identification.
3. Community Engagement Events - Beth Underwood
- Planning underway for WISH events (October–February), with potential to align with vaccination outreach.
- Arts Factory identified as a likely venue for joint activity.
- Exploring additional venues including Cwm Cynon Link and sites in Bridgend.
Actions:
- Continue coordination between Beth and Sara to align outreach and engagement.
4. Communications Toolkit - Jam Jar Agency
Jamjar - CTM Winter Vaccination Campaign - Working Group Briefing
- Jam Jar introduced their team and approach to co-designing a hyperlocal, behaviourally informed toolkit.
- Key themes include:
- Avoiding imagery of needles/plasters due to fear responses.
- Avoiding the term ‘jab’ - using vaccine/vaccination instead.
- Using real people, local landmarks, and culturally relevant messaging.
- Ensuring accessibility (BSL, Easy Read, subtitles).
- Providing editable and ready-to-use assets for community partners.
- Leveraging short-form messaging for wider reach.
- Agreed key deadlines:
- Jam Jar to develop initial concepts and messaging by 19th September (end of this week).
- Working Group to provide feedback by 23rd September (COP).
- First phase of toolkit rollout planned for week commencing 13th October.
