Visiting

Please note updated visiting times for CTM Maternity.

To ensure staff safety and the ability to provide care and clinical procedures effectively and safely, we ask that you do not arrive outside of these times.

Antenatal, postnatal and induction of labour visiting

  • One nominated birth partner can stay with you 9am - 10pm every day
  • A maximum of two adult visitors can attend between 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm, in addition to your children/siblings of the baby

Birth partners during birth

  • Two nominated birth partners throughout the duration of labour, birth and for a period of time immediately after your birth, whilst care is provided in a single birth room
  • One nominated birth partner during birth in theatre

Setting in period

  • A period of around 30 minutes where one nominated birth partner can support you to settle in to the postnatal ward when you are transferred from the birth centre or labour ward (regardless of time of day or night), whilst respecting others receiving care within the ward/bay area

CTM UHB reccomendations for visitors

We know that this is a very special time, which sometimes brings its own unique challenges, and we recognise how important it is to you to support your loved ones. To ensure that it is a positive experience for you and your family, and also for our staff, please could you read and respect the reccomendations below:

  • The doors to CTM UHB maternity wards and birth centres are locked for security purposes, and staff cannot always answer the doors immediately. Please be patient when you press the buzzer. We will get to you as soon as we can.
  • We will treat you with dignity and respect, please do the same for our staff. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse. Anyone using offensive/aggressive language will be asked to leave.
  • Please use the chairs provided in the room, when visitors and family members sit or lie on the bed, it increases the risk of infection to your loved ones.
  • Please only take photographs of yourselves and your baby when you are in any area of maternity and theatre.
  • We can only facilitate entry to the maternity unit within visiting times, other than during labour when your nominated birth partner/s who can attend during the day and night.
