End to mandatory mask wearing

people in masks

We are pleased to share that the incidence of acute respiratory infections , including ‘flu, across the CTM region is now reducing.

As a result, we are stopping the mandatory wearing of masks across our settings. We are committed to responding to the most up-to-date evidence and ensuring practical and effective infection prevention measures.

This change this does not signify the end of vigilance. Masks may be reinstated if we experience a rise in infections or receive an alert from Public Health Wales.

The stand-down of mask use will take effect from today, Friday, 17 January 2025. This policy will remain under regular review, and any necessary adjustments will be communicated promptly to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and service users.

Thank you for helping us to slow the spread of infection. Your cooperation remains crucial in maintaining the safety of our staff and patients.
