A message from Amanda Farrow, Clinical Director for our Emergency Departments in CTM.

All of our Emergency Departments (EDs) are open and operating as normal. This includes at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, where the current issues with the roof are NOT affecting the running of the Emergency Department. If you have a serious or life threatening injury or illness, you should continue to access services at any of our three EDs.

We are also reminding our communities that our EDs are for only the most seriously injured and unwell people. This means that, even if you arrive before someone else, if you have a less serious condition you could face an extended wait.

If you are unsure if you, or a friend or relative, needs emergency care, you can use the online NHS 111 Wales Symptom Checker for advice. By choosing the appropriate service you will help take the pressure off our busy staff and be seen quicker by a healthcare professional who is experienced in helping with your problem.
