Why are you going from five to three community vaccination centres?

We are now entering a new phase of the COVID-19 vaccination programme and are making plans on how and where we will deliver vaccines to our communities in the future.

Since the beginning of this programme, we have worked side by side our three local authorities, as they provided us with venues to turn into community vaccination centres.  Those partnerships have been vital in making this vaccination programme such a success.

While our first priority has been and is to offer the vaccine quickly and safely to protect our communities, we have always been conscious that four out of five of our CVCs are important leisure venues in the areas they serve.

It has always been a long-term aim to reach the point in the vaccination programme when we could hand back our CVCS to our local authorities so our communities could use the venues for their true purpose.

Thanks to so many of you coming forward for your COVID-19 vaccines, we have now reached that milestone in the programme and are at the point where we can hand back two of the five community vaccination centres.
