Lynda Thomas is the Chief Executive of Macmillan Cancer Support having been in the role since March 2015. She joined Macmillan in 2001, heading up the communications and fundraising departments.  

Lynda is dedicated to creating an environment where colleagues, professionals and volunteers are empowered and supported to do all they can to help people with cancer.  She is also passionate about equity, diversity, inclusion, and doing everything she can to tackle the health inequalities that exist.

Lynda feels strongly about ensuring that people with cancer have access to support which is right for them so they can live life as fully as they can. 

Originally, from Porthcawl, Lynda is a fluent Welsh speaker and a big fan of the Wales rugby team!

Lynda became an Independent Board Member in 2021 and is a member of the following Board Committees:-

• Digital and Data Committee
• People and Culture Committee
• Population, Health and Partnerships Committee
• Remuneration and Terms of Service
