IT and Information Governance

Throughout his career, Ian has held various senior university positions including Pro Vice-Chancellor of Student Experience, Head of School of Applied Computing, Assistant Dean of Faculty, as well as being a lecturer in Electronics and Computing for nearly 30 years at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD). 

Currently, he is a Director of the Wales Institute of Digital Information, which is a strategic partnership between Digital Health and Care Wales, the UWTSD Group and the University of South Wales. Ian has supervised research and acted as examiner, examination chair and supervisor for Masters/PHD students. His current research is focussed mainly in technology solutions that will benefit health and care. 

Ian became an Independent Board Member in 2019, and is a member of the following Board Committees: 

  • Audit and Risk (Vice-Chair) 

  • Digital and Data (Chair) 

  • Planning, Performance and Finance  

  • Population Health and Partnerships  

  • Remuneration and Terms of Service
