Healthy Futures Maesteg Update

This week, the next phase of our exciting Heathy Futures Maesteg Programme gets underway.

In early January, we met with local residents, community groups and elected representatives from across the Llynfi Valley (including local GPs and Primary Care teams), to begin a conversation around the future of health and care in Maesteg. We gathered extensive views on ways to better meet the health and care needs of the local population, including a future plan for developing Maesteg Community Hospital.

Taking on board all the feedback from extended engagement, here are the top five health and care priorities identified for the Llynfi Valley.  

During late May 2023, we will be meeting with the community once again. We’ll be holding information events to discuss the feedback and to share a high level proposal outlining the potential future for Maesteg Hospital, shaped by community and stakeholder feedback.
