Changes to orthopaedic surgery cutting waiting times

Changes to orthopaedic surgery at Princess of Wales Hospital is allowing some patients requiring hip or knee replacements to return home on the same day as receiving their surgery. This in turn has the potential to cut waiting times in half.

The consultant surgeon behind the initiative Keshav Singhal said that as long as patients are otherwise fit and well day surgery is possible by making some small adjustments to the procedure they receive.
