Welsh Language Services Manager

This video explains how the team ensures the University Health Board operates bilingually.
More Than Just Words aims to ensure that Welsh speakers should not need to request a service in Welsh, and that staff should provide the service in the patient's usual language, be that in Welsh, English or both languages.
This reflects the principle of the 'Active Offer', which is now being promoted in health, social services and social care, as outlined in the Welsh Government's strategic framework for the Welsh language. An 'Active Offer' means that a service is provided in Welsh, without the need for someone to ask for it.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB is subject to the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011, and there are a set of vital standards which we must meet. This short video explains what the standards are and how we are working to ensure the Health Board complies with them.
A panel of this nature is commonplace throughout the UK, and this panel includes members of the public who volunteer their time to read patient information leaflets in Welsh. They will ensure that the message of the leaflets is properly conveyed and that the text is easy to read and understand. Find out more in this leaflet.
